odd first "messages from Buyers" -- are they spam/junk?
I am new to EBay. When I make a new listing, I immediately get a "message from a Buyer" that states something like: "Subject: Action Required: Verify Your eBay Account" or "Dear User, As part of our latest policy improvements, your account . . . " ??
And, they are from suspicious addresses, like safety.57_99
Are these spam/junk/phishing?

Mentor8 months ago@t.wanderhill This is a FAKE spam message. Please use the report option on the message by clicking on the 3 dots on the upper right hand side.
Message from eBay will be in your eBay messages folder and they will NEVER have a user ID
Also add the user ID to your blocked list. https://www.ebay.com/bmgt/BuyerBlock
( this stops the member from messaging you again even if you are not a seller)

OP8 months agoThanks for your advice! Very very helpful!
And, while I have you "on the line"-- may I get your advice? I am new to EBay, and trying to figure out the best way to sell a very small comic collection -- I bought a lot of comics when I was a teen, and I am now 65, and hoping to sell the more "collectible" comics. For instance, I have a Green Lantern #76 that is signed by the artist Neal Adams. I should be able to sell it for more than $300.00 . . . but I notice that the majority of the other sellers of such rarities pay (50 dollars a comic??) to get the CGC guarantee . . . something I am hesitant to do, since I am only hoping to sell about 20 comic books.
I notice that on your EBay site, some of your comics have CBG's, and some do not.
Is it a "must-do" for me to get the CGC guarantee (to sell something within the next 2 months), or can I just avoid this expensive process, and wait it out (and hope for a "raw" buyer?)
thanks--ted
