Obvious fake lisitng and seller but eBay says listing not in violation.
Hello all
I was searching for a particular Troy-Bilt mower TB30, Google turns up some listings at "TOO GOO TO BE TRUE" pricing i.e at $621 when Troy-Bilt site is over 2k. https://www.ebay.com/itm/317051437188?itmmeta=01K09EX9WC4XG2ATYGWR0B2BJK&hash=item49d1bd0084:g:3q8AAeSw8wZoaVHH I sent it to eBay as fake with this seller profile: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?item=317051437188&rt=nc&_trksid=p4429486.m3561.l161211&_ssn=sgvcxf552
To my surprise they are saying it does not violate our policy

If you purchase from that listing, most likely the seller will provide a false tracking number that appears to show delivery to your area, but nothing will arrive.
If you file an "item not received" case, the seller would win because the seller would have tracking that appears to show delivery. And you would have nothing to return for a "not as described" return.
Then you would have to work hard to prove that the tracking did not correspond to a delivery to your address in order to actually get a refund, and if you filed the wrong case or were unable to provide documentation, you may lose.
It is not actually against the rules to list an expensive item for a cheap price, even if buyers would be wise to avoid purchasing such listings from accounts that show obvious signs of being set up by scammers.
Not every scam is a listing violation. In many cases, the actual scam takes place later, when the promised item fails to arrive at all or is not as described.
