Not paying for an item with sellers approval
So I sent an offer for an item and later regretted it after they accepted because I found something cheaper that better suited my needs. I was talking to the seller who is from Japan, so it was a little difficult to communicate at first, but I believe we came to an understanding. They told me it’s ok if I don’t pay and that it will auto cancel after 4-5 days of no payment.
I’m concerned that because the seller isn’t actually cancelling the order that their will be negative consequences to my account for not paying even though the seller said they are ok with it. Will the system automatically flag my account or have any other negative consequences if I don’t pay or do I have nothing to be worried about?

The cancellation for non-payment will be recorded on your Ebay account.
2 or more nonpayment cancellations will result in being blocked by most sellers.
The time to price comparison shop is before you make an offer.

One unpaid item strike doesn’t matter.
If you get more than one, sellers across eBay will be able to block you from bidding or buying.
