Not able to bid or put anything in my cart.
When I press Bid or try to put an item in my cart, nothing happens. I’ve been on eBay for over 10 years, have bought over 500 items, and have over 500 positive Feedback, none other. Why can’t I bid on anything? Thank you!

OP2 years agoWhen I tried to put items on my Watch List, it wouldn’t do it.
How do l securely update eBay on my iPad? I joined eBay when it was new, and I don’t think I’ve ever done anything different except going on PayPal.

Mentor2 years agoIf you are using the eBay app, see if there is an update or a newer version available at the App Store that works with your current operating system.
If you are using a browser, see if there is a newer browser version you could use, or try a different browser altogether to see if that works better.
If none of that helps, you may also want to look into seeing if there is a newer operating system available for your particular iPad. I have no direct experience with iPads, so I do not know what is involved in that.

OP2 years agoMy daughter came over today and found your suggestions very helpful. The problem is that my iPad 2 is too old to update. IPad 5 is the oldest that can be. So she put Ebay on this little Samsung Galaxy. I don't have a smartphone.

I have an old Chromebook that I still like, but that has very limited resources and cannot easily be updated, so I share your frustration with the rapidly changing standards that can make otherwise still useful equipment no longer work with the latest versions of various apps.

OP2 years agoThank you so much! I had been doing all my eBay on my extremely old iPad for a long time. I tried it on my laptop, and it worked fine. I never would have thought of that.

Depending on how old your iPad is, you may still be able to use it to bid or make purchases if you are able to update the eBay app or use a recent browser. If not, you can at least use your iPad to browse and add items to your Watch List, and otherwise bid or complete transactions on another device.

OP2 years agoYes, I pay for everything right away. I usually give and receive feedback, always positive. I haven’t gotten any messages from eBay. This began about 27 hours ago.

Have you paid for all of your purchases in the past 12 months?
Do you see a message on the screen when you try to place a bid?
