Not a fan of 100% return policy
I am not happy with dealing with a returned item I sold. The buyer said 1 of 4 plates was cracked, and she was not happy. I suggested she file a claim with shipper. She was accusing right off in the beginning of out communication. She insisted I mailed the plate already broken, and she did not have time to file a claim. I asked for more pictures so I could file the claim. I used extra care when I shipped the plates. I use high standards when selling. I upload lots of photos & details. Something did not seem right. I asked ebay to step in because we did not seem to be resolving the issue. I asked for more pictures but she would not upload more. Ebay notified me they were issuing refund. Ebay sent return label & refunded the money. When I received the 4 plates back, they were all busted to pieces in the box. The shipping company could not help me with filing a claim due to the item was in worse condition once received back than when they handled the first shipping. I would hope ebay may reconsider the return policy. I will write off as a loss for the refund & the return postage for her mailing me a box of pieces of the plates.

Mentor3 years agoIn the future, when you plan on filing an insurance claim, you DO NOT have the buyer mail back the items. The buyer sends photos of the broken item, shipping label, packaging materials. You refund the buyer and then file an insurance claim on USPS.COM and upload the photos the byer sent. USPS may want to inspect the item, so the buyer needs to set that aside.
