Non-payment and then offer from same buyer

Hello everyone. I would appreciate some advice from other sellers.

I recently had an international buyer purchase one of my items, but they never completed payment. After waiting the required time, I canceled the order and relisted the item. Now the same buyer has made a new offer on the relisted item.

Since they did not pay the first time, I am hesitant to accept the offer. I am wondering how other sellers typically handle situations like this. Would you decline and block the buyer, or is there another step you recommend to protect the sale?

I am also considering reporting the buyer for non-payment, but wanted to hear how others handle repeat situations like this.

Hi @thriftmecalm I don’t sell myself, but my experience on the Community Boards tells me that most experienced sellers would have blocked the buyer when they stiffed you the first time. Do it now .

I would have cancelled for non-payment after 4 days the then I would have blocked them https://www.ebay.com/bmgt/BuyerBlock?

Personally, I wouldn't accept the offer just in case they have an axe to grind. Buyers have 4 days to pay and if you didn't follow the proper procedure, they may be angry.

Hi @thriftmecalm

-Unpaid item: If you waited 4 days and Cancelled on day 5 using the reason Buyer hasn't paid then they got a strike on their account. If they get 2 they will have trouble bidding or buying on eBay for 12 months, that's how long those strikes taken to roll off an account.

-If it were me I would block them and move on ... you can decline the offer or simply ignore it and let it time out.
