You are confusing two different things. For a Buy it Now listing you can choose the "Immediate payment required" option when making the listing which is not Auto Pay since the buyer must enter their payment information after the purchase and the listing stays live until they pay.
Auto Pay is for auctions and offers if you choose to enable the setting in your buyer requirements. When enabled the user must enter their payment information prior to making a bid or offer. Then if they win the item or their offer is accepted eBay automatically charges their payment source.
Ok. I think i have that checked in my payment preferences but even though the repayment shows auto pay at the end of the auction if bidders dont have it connected to a viable account it will run the 60 minute auto pay time frame and then revert to bidder has not paid. Unless I am missing something else in the process???
If you are listing auctions with time sensitive items then go to your buyer requirements page and turn on the Auto Pay option. This will require bidders to provide a payment source prior to making a bid and if they win the payment source will be charged within one hour. Make sure that you do not allow for combined shipping as this will give the winner the option of extending payment for seven days.

OP4 months agoBut doesnt the auto pay only apply to BIN sales? Will it work for auctions? Bidders are my problem.

Mentor4 months agoYou can apply the autopay requirement to auctions, also.
Choose the following in your buyer requirements: (https://www.ebay.com/bmgt/buyerrequirements )
"Require buyers to provide a payment method before they place a bid" (find under "buyer rules")
The bidder will see the following statement:
"By selecting Place bid, you authorize eBay to bid up to your max bid and, if you win, charge your bid amount and related costs to your account."
