No return policy for special occassion dresses
I list vintage, one of a kind special occassion dresses. I do not want to accept returns on these. They are a wear one time item. I had a return on a wedding gown which was worn. Cost me a lot to refund and had to throw item away. How can I protect myself as a top rated seller from returns on special occassion items.

Mentor3 years agoThere is no absolute protection.
If you list those items with no returns, there is no protection or deduction if your buyer opens a not as described return.
If you list them with 30 day returns, you won't get the TRS+ final value fee discount, but you will be able to deduct up to 50% for change in condition if returned.
If you list them with free returns, you will get the final value fee discount, and you will be able to deduct up to 50% for change in condition if returned.

Mentor3 years agoIt is difficult to buy an expensive dress online, unless it is a brand you know well and know how it fits. Even having measurements, the fit is going to be different on each person. I know I’m not saying anything you don’t already know - my point is that not everyone asking about returns is looking to rent.

OP3 years agoI agree, and am not trying to paint people as dishonest. But measurements are stated in listings for a reason. If you are not 36" X 28" X36" then do not buy a dress with those measurements. It has cost me hundreds of dollars to take returns from buyers who "think" they will make it fit, or lose weight.
