No response from seller for defective item
I purchased several Makita batteries from the seller “btbattery “ in July 2025 for a home project I was starting and in September one of the batteries just stopped working. I tried to contact the seller 4-5 times and never received a response at all. I contacted eBay and was told that since it was over 30 days they could not help me either with the buyer. So at this point all I can do is leave a bad review. Anyone know how I can easily do that? At lest if I can help someone avoid why I went through I will be fairly satisfied …Phil

Mentor9 months agoIf you paid with a credit card, you can contact the card issuer to see about a chargeback. Most card companies can help within 180 days of purchase.

OP9 months agoThank you for your response. I tried that and all they did was contact eBay and were told that since the defect happened outside the 30 day help period there was nothing they could do, including contacting the seller. The credit card company said there was nothing more they could do for me. I will leave a review on a public forum elsewhere and end my eBay membership…thanks for your help

Mentor9 months ago@psena56 ,
Since it was more than 30 days after you received the battery that it stopped working, ebay's Money Back Guarantee (MBG) protections had lapsed.

As for leaving feedback, you had 60 days to leave it, so that time frame has also lapsed.

OP9 months agoThanks for the input…yes, when I contacted eBay they informed me about the 30 day limit and would not help. I was appealing to the seller’s morals more than anything else but they didn’t even have the decency to respond to my messages. The least they could do was tell me they would not do anything for me or offer a suggestion but have the courtesy to respond. I thank you for your response.
