No record of item purchased.

Question

I bought a battery 5 days ago and I have the receipt with the seller and eBay on the letter head. The battery is defective. I contacted the seller and they say they have no record of the sale. I have sent copies directly to their email. When I go to returns they say no item has been purchased. The "Assistant" tells me I can't be connected to an agent because I haven't purchased anything in 90 days. Artificial Intelligence is not intelligence.

You may have purchased the item as a 'Guest' ... in which case, you'll find the receipt in your email account. You will be able to open a case from a link in the email once you find it.

Otherwise, you can file a case with PayPal (if you used it to pay) OR with your credit card company.

Is it possible that you made the purchase on Ebay as a Guest?

If so, sign out of your Ebay account and find the Order Confirmation email from Ebay.

Find the email with the subject line starting â€œOrder Confirmedâ€.
Select View order details.
Choose Return item.
Select your reason for returning the item.
Select Next.
If you like, you can add a message for the seller and add up to 10 photos.
Select Confirm return.
