No more PayPal Pay in 4?
I won an auction yesterday and paid with PayPal's Pay in 4. No problems because I've used that many times on my more expensive auctions. Today I win an auction from the same seller and I usually wait until the closing minutes if not seconds to bid. Today I get a message before I can even place a bid that I have to pick an "Automatic Payment" so I choose PayPal thinking I will be directed to PayPal like I always have but I won the auction and it didn't even go to PayPal, it just charged my payment type for the full amount.
I didn't see any messages about this new change to even think about it. I planned on using "Pay in 4" for this purchase but not an option anymore. Very disappointed! 😡

Paypal's "Pay in 4" does not work for autopayments.
If you choose Paypal for your auto-payment information before bidding, the payment will come from the default payment source you have set up in Paypal.

OP2 years agoI don't see how there is any choice if you choose PayPal. PayPal has options that I always had a chance to choose from but not now. Sad.

If you choose Paypal as your auto-pay, make sure your default funding source in Paypal is set to the funding source you want the payment to come from before you make your bid or make an offer. I have 2 credit cards and a checking account attached to my Paypal account, so before I make an offer, I make sure to set my default funding source to the account I want to use if my offer is accepted.
