I received an empty package today. I’ve sent seller msgs but no reply as of yet. It would be nice if I could speak to an eBay representative, but no luck there either. I reported this to ups & a lady reached out & told me the seller needs to file a (damage claim) . Does anyone have any feedback. Has anyone else experienced this. People are theifs. Makes me not want to purchase online!

Mentor2 years agoYou do not have to wait for the seller to file a claim. The seller refunds you, then collects from the carrier if the claim is approved.
Go to your purchase history - select return this item. Under reasons select does not match the description, and follow the prompts.
The seller has 3 business days to send you a return label or a refund. If he doesn't, or says he can not send a label, go to your case and click 'ask us to step in'.
He should not want to spend the money to have you return an empty package, but if he does, then you send it back to him. He should ask you to hold it in case ups wants to inspect it.

OP2 years agoOk thanks for this info. I’m gonna give seller till tomorrow to reply. Maybe they are closed etc. If I do not get reply soon, then I will ask for refund. It would be nice if eBay to have people help over the phone tho. I hope I get my money back for something I did not receive. I really appreciate your help.

OP2 years agoHello wooden flower & sorry to bother. It’s asking to take photos & notes . Am I supposed to show picture of empty box I received & leave a msg about this bad experience of receiving an empty box?

Mentor2 years agoYes, take a photo of the empty box and just say box arrived without contents. If there is any evidence of damage on the box, take the photo so that can been seen.

OP2 years agoGood morning. Ok I did the return. I posted 5 pics of empty box & where they taped the bottom of box . I really hope that I get the refund because it is not fair to lose out on over 500 bucks. Especially around Xmas time. 😞

Mentor2 years agoAs long as you selected does not match the description, the seller can not decline the return. Be sure to click ask us to step in if he does not respond in 3 business days (Sat & Sun don’t count). At that price point I would expect eBay to send you a return label.
The seller really should ask you to hold the box until he files a claim with usps, but if he doesn’t, go ahead and send it back - put it in another box so he gets the empty box intact.

OP2 years agoGood morning. So the seller sent me a msg yesterday morning to tell me that they will fix the problem asap & they are sorry that this happened. They will file damage claim . Hopefully I can still get it resolved this week because they don’t run sat-sun. I still have the box & am ready for any actions they ask for. Thank you I appreciate your help!

Mentor2 years agoGreat! Don't let the seller make you wait for his claim - he should refund you now.
You don't know how much insurance he put on the package - $100 is the standard included amount - but it doesn't matter - you get a full refund, the insurance reimburses him.
