No ebay messages/emails generated for a Sold item
Hi all,
I’ve been selling for two decades and never had this happen before:
Apparently I sold an item and for some reason eBay never notified me that I sold this item… as a matter of fact they didn’t even show that they generated any ‘sold’ or ‘paid’ messages/notifications in the message/notification section of the eBay app itself. FWIW, I did check trash, junk, as well just to be sure and nothing there either…and I have not changed any ebay settings for at least a year…with many items sold since then with no issues.
The only reason I even knew that I sold this item was because they sent me a message about a payout. Of course, once I opened the app it clearly stated the item had been purchased and paid for.
It’’s really odd that ebay knows that I sold an item but yet never generated ANY messages whatsoever specifically regarding the sale… not even in their own message system. The account section shows payment of course and then sent me a payout and the item is marked as sold, etc…just no messages/notifications generated informing of the sale.
Has anyone else encountered this issue? I am also curious if this is a system wide issue that maybe has been resolved… It happened to me on January 24th 2023.
Thanks.

Mentor3 years agoIt's possible there was a system glitch, though I have received confirmation emails for each of my sales. But it isn't necessarily eBay. It could be your email provider. It's never a good idea to depend on emails or notifications when you're selling. You should check your eBay account daily at a minimum.

OP3 years agoThanks for the reply, but It was definitely NOT my email provider as eBay never generated any messages in it’s own message app regarding the sale… thus there was nothing to forward to my email address.
(BTW, The above was verified by ebay, they are supposedly looking into it)
