It seems eBay has trashed the concept of allowing calls with live agents. Other than language barriers. It’s better than being volleyed like a ping pong ball between bots online and bots on the phone that hang up on you.
did eBay fire everyone? Or is him bay on strike??

Use the link below, and you can request a call back from Ebay by clicking “Chat with our automated assistant†on the left side of the page. Then type "AGENT" at the bottom in the chat box. (Repeat as needed). You will see an option to request a call back or chat with a CS rep.
