newbie trying to understand selling fees charged

Hello - I recently sold a top for $60 and the buyer paid $10 in shipping and $4 in tax. EBAY deduced shipping from my earnings, why is that? So they received money from the buyer for shipping and they also charge me?

You received the shipping money from the buyer, not eBay. The buyer pays you, you buy the label.
