NEWBie BUYER and premature negative feedback
anyone come across a new to ebay buyer who two days after purchasing leaves negative feedback without reaching out to the seller. well, this is what happened to me. would you be offended by this feedback? "Purchased part was defective. Seller does not offer refunds on defective parts. Would not recommend using this seller." I've already reached out to ebay requesting removal of feedback. They responded with NO, buyer did not go against any ebay policy.
what irks me is that this buyer just joined ebay the day of purchase, has 0 feedback, and accuses me of selling defective parts and not offer reunds for defective parts. I do not accept returns and that is within my rights as a seller. If by chance, a part is damaged and does not work via shipping, I will accept returns, and give a refund upon return of item purchased.

Mentor2 years agoHi @frankieb67 Let's whoa up here. You only have 17 feedback, and only 1 of it is for selling, the negative. Just asking, who do you think is going to want to buy from you after the reply you left? Insulting your buyer is not a great way to attract more. You do not make yourself look good. If you want to continue to sell on eBay, it would be a good idea to accommodate this buyer with a little customer service and then kindly beg them to revise their negative feedback. Good luck!

When a listing says "Seller does not accept returns." like yours did, a buyer – especially a newbie buyer – thinks that there's no point in reaching out to the seller. They think their only option is to comment on their experience, to warn others.

OP2 years agoOk, others beware for I sell defective parts and don’t give refunds. Thanks, you’ve explained it to me perfectly. My buyer was dumb!

Mentor2 years agoHi again @frankieb67 If you sell on eBay, you give refunds whether you want to or not. If a buyer says an Item is Not As Described in the listing, a seller must cooperate with a return/refund or not only get an account defect, but lose their money and their item. eBay interprets No Returns to mean that the seller does not want the item back. Even describing parts as defective or For Parts Only does not protect against returns, because eBay Policy is that an item may be broken or defective in a way different from that described by the seller. If you want to stick people with junk and take their money, you'll have to try craigslist. Good luck!
ps, You really need to get that dumb buyer to revise their feedback, or future buyers aren't going to be much of a problem for you with your current feedback score of a very low 75%
