New to Selling
And I'm lost already! So much small print to read — But it's important, right? Otherwise eBay wouldn't post it! I don't think I can do this! Any encouragement out there for me?

In the beginning, only sell a few inexpensive things you have around the house. That way you don’t risk losing a lot of money on an expensive sale that goes wrong. Stay away from items that are potentially high scam items, like electronics. A new seller selling electronics is a magnet for scammers.
Realize that in the beginning, your funds from sales are going to be held for up to 30 days. And even for experienced sellers, funds are held for 30 days on items that sell for $1000+.
Understand how important it is to ship within your stated handling time. If you’re going to potentially have trouble shipping quickly, set a longer handling time. Also be aware that you can’t charge a buyer more for shipping than is shown in the listing, so be sure you enter the correct weight and dimensions in the listing form. Don’t try to offer free shipping until you get a very good understanding of what it’s actually going to take you to ship items.
Read the eBay Money Back Guarantee for buyers. Then read it again and again, until you really understand what it means for you as a seller. The most important thing to realize from that is that, on eBay, even if you say No Returns, that only applies to buyer’s remorse. If a buyer claims an item is not as described, you WILL be refunding, with or without the item being returned, and either voluntarily or involuntarily.
