'New' shipping label problem - they changed things

I had not printed a shipping label for a couple of weeks + since I had back surgery. Well, I see the labels LOOK different now with only the label itself visible. No sale info on the other half.
I never had any trouble with those. My first attempt in Chrome it cut part of it off because it puts it in the far upper left. Tried downloading it and positioning it in Photoshop, but it being a PDF is not something I have worked with much.
Has safeguards on it that make it not as simple as a .jpg, etc. It either printed too big or fuzzy. Tried Edge and finally just printed it actual size in the center of a sheet of copy paper. I used copy paper anyhow.
Print Preview would not work in either browser, so I could not try to adjust/move the label image.
Is this just the way it is now? Have been printing labels on here for many years and this was FRUSTRATING!

Mentor3 months agoI just printed a label. Using Chrome on my computer, to an HP inkjet printer. Everything looks like it did the last time I printed a label. I noticed no changes at all.

Check to make sure you have the settings selected to print the instructions receipt. When you go to your labels page look at the bottom of the order details section for the print format option. Click on change. The box will open with options and a check box for add receipt and instructions. Make sure that is checked. Be sure to save any changes.

OP3 months agoI have already printed the label thru Edge. I thought I'd see what happens from the email they send...I see no extra instructions on there. It only lets me download the PDF. I'll have to try next sale. I am wary of clicking "Reprint Label" for a third time.
I see the PACKING SLIP preview and things you can check and uncheck.
I certainly didn't change any settings or anything from what I was used to doing from the label print page. Unless somehow I accidentally did something. I have been on here since 1999.
Thank you and I hope what you suggest works. It sure was /is frustrating.

Also check to make sure the shipping label format is not set to QR code instead of printable label. You get a QR code and can download a printable one, plus print a packing slip etc with the QR option however there is no option for the receipt instructions. The choice for that is on the label page just above the payment options.

OP3 months agoI just sold something (and had just lowered it on Facebook!). I see right away at the bottom "QR Code" format is on. That is probably the whole problem...
Sure did not knowingly change that. Will finish packing it first and then proceed. I will re-read the suggestions beforehand, but I bet THAT was it!!! DOH!!!!!
Assuming it is...thank you for the suggestions. I WONDERED why it suddenly was so different! If only I had not posted in a MENTOR thing at first that got no response at all. I thought it was the usual forum like always. I'm still of fairly sound mind despite being 71...
That's why I have a few Post-It notes in front of me above the monitor to double-checks addresses, etc.

Your very welcome! Glad to help. I am not to your age yet (getting there fast) bit I have sticky notes all over my monitor too..

OP3 months agoOK...THAT solved it! I have no idea how things changed like that. All I know is you got my labels looking on the SCREEN like they used to and printing out like they used to. That hopefully does it. I hope I didn't confuse anyone after I thought switching from the QR code setting may have solved it. THIS time I was determined to take my time and LOOK for what you described as it had to be it.
And I can adjust the size if I need a smaller label for a bubble mailer, etc. And in CHROME! The main part of the mystery is solved. Thank you for your help!
It was very weird to have not done a label for a little bit (as I did not want things sold while I just had the back surgery) and then on the first one back things have changed. My wife doesn't 'do' eBay. The main thing is it is back to normal.

Mentor3 months agoI only use Chrome on my desktop computer, and have had no problems printing labels on my HP inkjet printer. However, the last time I printed labels was on 6/22/26, so I don't know if there have been any changes since.

OP3 months agoI can get it to work in Edge, but NOT in Chrome. I use Chrome mostly and usually forget and have the label ready to print in Chrome! It does not show me the same adjustments in Chrome. If it takes me to my printer's setting that won't work either.
No one else has this technical issue?
