New results for searches with brand name
I used to see all listings under a certain brand, when I simply inputted the brand name,....but today I can't find that same sort of result no matter what I try! I seem to get results personalized to recent interests and spending limits. I really don't like this. For example, I used to input 'J.Crew' and get all J.Crew listings. Today I do this, and get all women's sweaters $40 and up (without checking on 'women's' 'sweaters' or even spending ranges! at all in my search criteria.) I assume that Ebay is personalizing my search results. But that's not what I come to Ebay for. I'll shop elsewhere if they have made this standard.

What? You don't appreciate eBay helping you? How sharper than a serpent's tooth! LOL, you're not alone. Try putting the brand name inside quotation marks in your search terms. For example, don't search for Nikon without quotes, but search for "Nikon" between quotes instead. Good luck.

OP2 years agoThank you soooo much. I tried the quotes trick and it did eliminate the category it *anticipates* I want to see -- for example, sweaters this time of year. Yet, if I totally sign out, clean up my history (cache/cookies) and then return to Ebay.com and do the search....my results are still totally different! I think that this impacts selling, too....I want to know if those signed into Ebay will see my listing and those not signed into Ebay will see it. I guess it just takes more time to do the research *both* as buyer and seller. I thought online shopping was supposed to be quicker or more effective. Ha!
