new accounts with zero feedbacks buying electronics - scam?
It's been years since I sold anything on ebay, and I have just a couple items up now, including a $150 computer component. It sold buy-it-now in about an hour and I was glad, but then I looked at the buyer account was just five days old and had zero feedback. The address didn't check as a residence either, so I canceled it. Re-listed, and it sold fast again, to another account with zero feedback.
This just screams 'scam you don't know about because you haven't sold on ebay for a while'. Thoughts? Seems like sellers used to be able to screen so fewer than 10 or 20 feedbacks couldn't bid or buy the auctions, and that is not the case now. Also I hear that buyers can claim they didn't receive the item and they get a refund (and get to keep the item if they are lying) so I lose the money and the item. If this is the case, it's more reason to be concerned about zero-feedback buyers with odd addresses. Appreciate any advice, thanks.
