Never received an item never got money back
I ordered a ps5 for $263.00 and went home after work and looked closely at the sellers profile and it was a scam. It was a screenshot of a ps5 from someone else's phone and when I clicked return for refund and explained what happened, the guy deleted his profile and all progress of shipping has stopped. It has said awaiting pre shipment info in Arizona since July 31st. Ebay closed the case and I call numbers to try and get help and they want $200 for me to buy some ebay gift card and they say then they'll return the $200 to me. This sounds like a scam so I decided against it and no matter what other phone number I call they link me right by to eBay and tell me the case is closed. I literally never want to buy anything on ebay again and have had the worst experience EVER. No one even comes close to having this bad of customer service. How can someone take $263.00 from me, I have undeniable proof that this guy scammed me and there isn't a single person on ebay that handles situations like this?? I can't explain how horrible this websites help is. What can I do to get my money back?

Mentor3 years agoeBay doesn't publish a phone number for support, so any number you find on line is going to a scammer site that would just love to charge you money and get your personal information.
To speak with eBay you need to ask for a call back.
At the link below, you can request a call back from eBay by clicking Have us call you on the left side of the page. If you don't see that option, click Chat with our automated assistant. Then type "agent" at the bottom in the chat box. You'll see an option to request a call back there.

OP3 years agoThank you so much for your reply. I will try that link if paypal doesn't work. For anyone reading this and going through a similar situation, if you used paypal: call their customer service number and tell them about the scam. Paypal instantly opened a case and said they offer 100% money back guarantee if they see you were scammed. Paypal is amazing, ebay is complete trash when it comes to helping people out in my situation. I appreciate the response and time you took to reply. I'll never order anything from this site that costs more than I can afford to lose. How can ebay close a case and say a person has to deal with losing $260 and that person has all the proof the item hasn't shipped in almost 2 weeks and the buyer's profile is deleted the next day? It's 2023 and to offer no protection against this blatant fraud kind of blows my mind. The lack of customer support is completely astounding as well. I'm not buying anything on this site over 50 bucks or so just in case I need help with any issues I might come across. My mind is blown, I didn't even think there were any reputable websites that were this primitive, definitely taking my business elsewhere. Again, thanks for the response. I feel horrible for anyone on this site that ends up needing help from ebay. That help will not be there.
