never got a refund
i bought a item from a seller and the item was defective. paid 116 to send back, they claim it never was received, but i have proof it was delivered and signed for, and now i am out 865 plus return shipping. they wont answer questions or phone calls. since this has happened they have sold the stock of what they had of this item to another seller, but are still using the same photos with there logo in it. ebay wont help. bank wont help, and paypal wont either. any help?

Mentor2 weeks ago@trashjockey When an item is defective the seller pays return shipping. You need to use the shipping label that is in the case OR enter your tracking number into the case. If you do neither then the eBay system doesn't know you returned the item.
Did the seller ship directly to you? Or did you use a package forwarding company? Forwarding the item to another address voids the eBay Money Back Guarantee.

Mentor2 weeks ago@trashjockey unless you filed an official return request case used the return label that the seller provided then eBay can't force the seller to issue a refund.
Why did you pay return shipping yourself if the item was not as described?

OP2 weeks agoit was after the 30 days and they agreed to accept the return. sent back and ghosted me

Unfortunately eBay customer service can't make the seller refund you because it's past the 30 day limit.
You will need to contact your payment method to see what protection you have. Provide copies of the messages that told you to return it and the tracking number that shows delivery.

Mentor2 weeks agoWhen an item received from a seller is defective, you should have done this:
Go to
My ebay > Purchase History
Locate the item. Click on RETURN THIS ITEM because it is Not as Described. YOU ONLY HAVE 30 DAYS FROM RECEIPT OF THE ITEM TO DO THIS.You will need to click on More to see that option. The seller will need to provide a prepaid shipping label for its return. Print out the label, affix it to the box, and have the counter clerk scan the label. When tracking shows DELIVERED back to the seller, the seller needs to refund you within 2 days. If no refund, go back to the case and click on Ask ebay to step in, to force the refund.
If it is past 30 days from receipt of the item, and you paid with a credit card, contact the credit card issuer regarding a chargeback. Most credit card issuers will help within 180 days of the transaction.

OP2 weeks agotried with no success. seller agreed to take it back, since it was over 30 days, had to wait to have this installed was on a wait list.

Unfortunately eBay can't force the seller to refund you since eBay Money Back Guarantee had expired.
An eBay agent cannot extend the 30 days time limit.
You need to contact your payment method to file a chargeback.
