never calls back
After over 600 purchases, you would think eBay would call me back. NO! Is this the worst customer service of any company or what???

Believe it or not, I spent 3.5 hours on the phone this morning trying to get tech support from Amazon for a Fire TV problem I was having. I had to speak to 4 different agents ... two of whom were disconnected from me after 20 minutes, and I had to start over with the next one. They could NOT solve the problem during all that time ... although I somehow managed to fix it after troubleshooting trial & error by myself.
The agents attempted to verify my account with a text ... when the phone on file was a landline ... and the only email address attached to my account wasn't recognized. [This occurred during the AI part of the phone call, when I had no way of clarifying why I couldn't accept a text message or figure out why my email addy was rejected.]
3 of the 4 agents were located in a foreign country, and had heavy accents. [We had difficulty understanding each other.]
So no ... I do NOT think that eBay has the worst customer service of any company. The previous 'crown jewel of customer service' (Amazon) is just as bad ... if not worse ... than eBay.
I've experienced similar problems with most of the CS agents I contact on other sites. I think it's just a sign of the times. I recommend you start here ... in eBay's Community ... to ask your questions. Thankfully, it's really necessary to speak with an actual agent to solve a problem.

Mentor2 years agoHi @plasticman9
I've never experienced that - I always receive a call within a minute or two. If you have a call blocked, be sure it's turned off.
In the meantime, why not ask your question here?

OP2 years agoI try to pay for an item. All I get is a prompt"Pardon our interruption". Then it says you may be a bot. Seller is losing patience with my inability to complete payment. I really want to pay.

I'm sure that's really frustrating. Try using another browser (Firefox, Chrome, Edge) to make payment. You can also try logging out, clearing your eBay cookies, then start over.
