Negative feedback they are refusing to remove
Summary: fim99 is frustrated after receiving negative feedback about a transaction involving vintage watches, claiming it was unjust. They attempted to resolve the issue through eBay's support multiple times but were unsuccessful, receiving contradictory responses and a lack of clear explanations. Other participants explained that feedback revisions are meant for buyers to change their feedback, and if this feedback doesn't violate specific policies, it is unlikely to be removed by eBay. They also cautioned fim99 on the impact of their response to feedback on potential buyers.
I have a question about negative feedback. I received a negative feedback unjustly that ruined my 100% positive feedback. Someone accusing me of changing out a watch from a group of about 10 vintage parts or repair watches. They never asked me any questions about the lot before bidding and buying. They actually had written me and wanted me to end the auction which I did not do. Anyhow, contacted Ebay - twice by phone and 3 through chat. All seemed to understand my position and assured me it would be taken care of. Well --- I was denied multiple times. No real explanation of what was said from this bidder that would cause them to let this unjust feedback stand. Spoke to them last time on the phone and was told they would escalate it to the higher department. Have not heard anything. This really bothers me as a similar incident happened a couple years ago and the feedback was immediately removed. Just don't understand why I am not getting answers? I did nothing wrong and I honestly just don't get it. One person on chat was actually nasty to me and wanted nothing to do with it. What the heck? Also, why are we given so many revisions if we are not able to use them?

Mentor2 weeks agoFeedback revisions are for the buyer to change the feedback they left. They are not for eBay to change the feedback that was left. You can only send one revision request per sale and if the buyer does not make any changes there is nothing left for you to do.
eBay considers the buyers feedback to be their impression of the sale and will not remove it unless they violate very specific feedback policies. The feedback did not violate any of the policies. Your response was not very professional and could hurt you in the eyes of buyers looking at the feedback you leave buyers.

Mentor2 weeks agoThe revisions you are referring to is for the seller to ask the buyer to revise their feedback. You have already used up 2 revision requests. I doubt the buyer would revise their feedback given the reply you posted to their feedback.

OP2 weeks agoThey would not remove it regardless. Accusing me of selling them something I didn't should be grounds for removal of the feedback. I have been selling for 25 years and this has been rediculous.
