Negative Feedback Removed
I just had a super frustrating eBay experience with little to no help from eBay. We purchased violin that was described as "perfect playing condition," yet upon receiving it, found out that it needed over $250 of repair work as it was unglued.
We tried to work with the seller, but he accused us of damaging it and lying about its condition. We provided pictures and visited a professional luthier to inspect and give an estimate. Seller would not take it back or even give us a partial refund. We went back and forth - mostly us answering to his many insults and accusations.
Finally decided to leave negative feedback -using very simple words and an honest explanation. Yet, I just now see here that eBay removed the negative feedback. Not only do we feel ripped off by the seller, but also totally unsupported by eBay - especially with their "buyer money back guarantee."
What can we do to have the negative feedback returned? I called what about this seller multiple times, seeking their advice and assistance.

I'm sorry that happened.
Did you open a Return Request? A seller doesn't have a choice about accepting a return for an Item Not As Described. You need to open the request within 30 days of delivery.
I am not sure feedback can be returned. Most feedback removal is reviewed by automation. You can try sending feedback to eBay about the removal process. I've had feedback I carefully left be removed as well.
It's frustrating.

OP9 months agoYes, we were out of town after the 30-day window. I called ebay, and they are reviewing the messages. The seller made some inappropriate and inconsiderate comments - all while we were trying to work with him showing plenty of proof, including having it inspected by a violin shop.

I'm sorry about the inappropriate messages.
Here are some steps to take, if you feel it's needed.
1) Advise the seller through eBay messages to stop contacting you.
2) Report each alarming message using the 3 dots in the upper right of the messaging
3) If possible, report the seller using https://www.ebay.com/help/buying/resolving-issues-sellers/report-issue-seller?id=4022
If this option doesn't work, then
4) Report the seller using eBay's social media customer service to get assistance
- https://www.facebook.com/ebay
Just sent a private message to the page explaining what happened.
Again your reporting reason is
Only if needed
5) File a police report
Reply back and let me know if you need more help.
