Negative feedback not showing on seller's profile
Good Day!
I recently purchased an Ebay certified refurbished smart phone from what appears to be a reputable seller. Turns out it was actually flagged by Verizon as fraud for "no pay", and therefore could not be acviated.
Because this was the 4th time (all from different sellers) I had purchased a refurbished/used/open-box phones from a seller on ebay in the past 5 years or so that had some sort of issue preventing me from activing it (flagged as fraud, locked to another carrier, etc), I decided that it's time to start leaving negative feedback for these sellers for being negligent and not running the number on the phones they're selling first before shipping them out, to ensure they are not flagged and will actually work when the buyer receives them.
It wouldn't be such a problem if upon opening the package and pulling out the phone that we can notice an obvious defect, and then simply put it back, print a return label and ship it back with minimal effort and time lost. However, in these cases, it's not obvious. Therefore we wind up spending several hours trying to contact Verizon customer support to find out what the issue is. In addition to that, because Verizon uses SIM cards, as soon as we put our previous SIM card into the phone we get from the Ebay seller, it immediately deactivates the SIM card because it becomes associated with the fraudulent phone. Again, this is not immediately evident, and requires further support from Verizon customer service. So then, in order to get the old phone working again, we have to schedule a trip to the Verizon store to have somebody get us one, which is again another 1-2 hour process. Not to mention that this happened on the weekend, so therefore I was without a working phone for over 48 hours, and had been expecting important phone calls.
That's the sort of damage and frustration not checking these phones properly causes. It's kind of like sending somebody a package with a bomb in it. The bomb explodes and causes a big mess in your house, so you have to go to the store and buy special cleaning supplies and spend several hours cleaning it up. Costs you time, gas, etc.
Anyway, I went ahead and left negative feedback for the seller today, but it's not showing up on their profile. So I was curious...is negative feedback not eligible because they gave me a full refund? Because that doesn't make sense, considering the amount of time and hassle they caused by doing this (as I explained above). It would absolutley explain why 50% of the time when people buy phones from sellers, they wind up not being able to activate them and going through this headache, yet somehow the sellers magically have 98%+ positive reviews, when they absolutely shouldn't, considering how negligent they are being by not checking the phones before sending them out, to ensure they aren't locked or flagged or anything like that.
Can anyone give me an explanation?
Would be much appreciated. Thank you!
