Yes, there are a number of reasons why a less than Positive Feedback could be removed. However, we have no details on the transaction you experienced nor do we have account access.
eBay has seven Help pages governing Feedback, it can get complicated at times. Screen shot below. It may be a blessing in disguise that the Negative FB was dropped form your Feedback history. Anyone looking at your FB history will see that of the 2 Feedbacks on record that you left for Sellers 1 was Negative. That can be a real turnoff to Sellers.
