Need to be away for 3 months but have 500 active listings and cannot send orders . Please advise
If I end the items for sale will I be able to reactivate those items after a three-month absence? I am worried that I would lose the items for sale and would have to start from scratch upon return to selling. Thanks in advance for any insight or recommendations

eBay purges ended-listing data after 90 days, so you have a good chance of losing that data.
You may want to take the out-of-stock approach, where a listing can be hidden for up to 6 months before eBay will end the listing (and purge 90 days thereafter). Those hidden listings will still consume monthly insertions.

Follow these steps in order:
1. If you only have one of each item, the out-of-stock is easy. If you have multiples of an item, you will first need to preserve the current quantity in a spreadsheet before sending them out of stock. This is a simple matter of downloading a price and quantity template from Seller Hub Uploads.

2. Then go to your account settings and turn on the stock control.

"Multi-quantity listings: Listings stay active when you're out of stock"
3. Within Seller Hub, select all of your active listings and bulk edit the quantity to zero. Another way to bulk edit to zero is to make a copy of the spreadsheet you downloaded, bulk change the quantity column to zero and upload that spreadsheet back to the same Seller Hub page.
4. Out of stock items will no longer appear in search and can no longer be purchased from a bookmark.
5. When you return, upload your original spreadsheet to restore the quantities, or bulk edit your listings in Seller Hub to restore the quantity to "1" in all listings.
6. Then turn off the stock control feature in your account settings. If you don't, when an item sells, it will simply go out of stock, and you will have to manually end it after the sale, else it will use up monthly insertions until eBay retires it six months later.

OP2 years agoThank you so much for the help! Gosh, the insertion fees have me worried. Would it work to end the listings for two months, then relist the month prior to being available with “the seller is away†for that last month? Does that make sense to do?
