Need help with return
Ok so the return window has closed on my purchased item but the seller has agreed to refund me my money if I send it back. However, I don't have his return address anymore and eBay won't allow any sending of personal info so I cannot send my email for him and he cannot send me a return address via the messaging system on eBay. Cannot start a return on eBay and cannot contact eBay either to find a solution.....What do I do now?

Mentor3 weeks ago · EditedYou can't initiate a return, but you should still be able to contact the seller, but it has to be from the original completed transaction in your purchase history, not the current listing.
Both you and the seller after a completed sale should be able to exchange email address as this is how this type of problem is solved and is allow by ebay. However, there may be time limit for this. How many days has it been?

OP3 weeks agoCannot do any of that. The Return widow has been closed. I believe it closed back in July. And eBay will not allow any personal info to be shared over the messaging system. Believe we have tried. Which is why it's making this return outside of the widows closing difficult.

Mentor3 weeks ago@comics-scifi-collectibles Can you comment on OP's problem. Has something recently changed that after a completed sale you are blocked from messaging an email address to send a PayPal partial refund or in OP's case an address to return an item?

Mentor3 weeks ago@rfmtm I think that contact info can only be shared in messages for 30 days after the sale... maybe a bit longer.
As a seller I can see the buyers phone number in the order details for a July 30th sale. Not sure how far back that would go as I have not been actively selling, I THINK that it's 90 days.
@eastlaneave Can you check to see when a buyers phone number is no longer visible to a seller?

I can see a phone number on Order Details page on a July 1 sale. Earlier sales are no longer on Order Details.

OP3 weeks agoSo you see my dilemma. The seller cannot share his return address info and I cannot share my email address in messaging on eBay. So how can I ship the item back when we cannot share any info in order to facilitate a refund?

The seller can access your phone number and call you.
Tell him its on Order Details under contact information

Mentor3 weeks agoYou should be able to send this information if you go to the original Order Details for that item to contact the seller. You can not do this from any other listing that has not been a completed sale.
If there is something wrong with the item, open a return through the payment processor.
