Need help with eBay closed case
Summary: coolcobramatt is seeking advice after purchasing a watch from a Japanese seller, which was stolen from their porch. They've had difficulties getting a refund through eBay and PayPal, both of which refused their claims. The seller suggested dealing with eBay, but eBay closed the case with no option for appeal. coolcobramatt is concerned about losing over $600 and is asking for guidance.
I purchased a watch from a Japanese seller back on August 12th and I've been fighting with eBay and PayPal ever since to get my money back as the item was stolen off my porch. The seller filed a FedEx claim over a month ago yet will not reimburse me for my loss nor send a replacement. I found a PayPal claim so eBay immediately closed my customer complaint to get my money back now as of today PayPal has denied my claim. The seller wants me to take it up with eBay which obviously I cannot do because they closed it and it says I am not allowed to appeal it as it is a final decision. Any advice would be great did I just lose my money over $600?

Mentor1 week agoNeither eBay or the seller are responsible for a package that was stolen after delivery. FedEx will also not make any payment to you as any insurance on the package is voided once the package is scanned as delivered.
eBay policy is that once you went off of eBay to open a cases with PayPal they take no more responsibility for the purchase and decision by PayPal is final.
Check with your insurance company to see if this will be covered by your insurance policy.
