Need Help with a Damage Package.
I bought a monitor on eBay, and it arrived damaged.
When I reported the issue, there wasn’t an option to indicate that I wanted to file a claim because the package arrived damaged. So I opened a refund request under the “package didn’t arrive” category. But I explicitly stated in my first message that the package did arrive, but it arrived damaged.
The eBay system tells me that the guarantee doesn’t apply because the package was marked as delivered. And indeed, the package did arrive, but it arrived damaged.
I tried to contact customer service, but they told me they would call me back and never did.

Mentor4 months agoThe problem is that you opened the wrong case originally. You opened an "Item not received" case but you had received the package. So tracking showed delivered and you lost the case. Since you only get one chance to open a case against the seller you can no longer get assistance from eBay. You should have opened an "Item not as described" case since a damaged item is not as described.
Now you will need to go to your payment source and ask about a charge back. Buyers win almost all chargebacks since their payment source decides the outcome not eBay. However, whatever the payment source decides is final and cannot be appealed.

OP4 months agoeBay should let me change the case type, because the first message explicitly states:
“I received the package, but it arrived damaged.” I've tried to contact a representative, but they never call me back. This is the first time something like this has happened to me. And the item I bought is expensive. What other options do I have to file a claim?
