NEED HELP BADLY FROM SEASONED BUYER OR SELLER
This is a first for me, as a seasoned buyer & seller. I order a pair of blinds from a seller with 5 feedback, after 2 days I contacted seller as to when he would ship because we needed the blinds within a week. Seller informed me he did not have to ship for 5 more days , so I asked him 5 times to please cancel the transaction, he refused and was very argumentive, telling me again, he did not have to ship for 5 more days. Ok, so I call Ebay, they open a non received case , as seller had not shipped.
Seller ships on the last day Ebay gave him, I receive, and the box is missing parts, so blinds can not be installed. Can I still open a not as described case, and return item, even though Ebay opened an item not received case? First problem I ever had with a seller. Thanks so much and appreciate answer if I can open item not as described case.

Yes, you should still be able to open a return request.
[I would NOT contact any seller … but especially a new one … about shipping after only two days. If time was an issue … that should have been discussed prior to buying.]

OP3 years agoThank you soooooooooo much, I did not discuss time, as had no idea he would wait 5 days to ship, and had asked to ship it in 2 -3 days. As a seller myself, I would have done that at buyer request or cancel the transaction, for them, if I could not ship before 5 days. But then I strive to please my buyers, not argue with them. Thank you kindly.

AND you are a "seasoned buyer & seller". 😊
I'm not a seller ... but am a seasoned reader of the Boards. Some of my working assumptions for low-feedback sellers are that they may be more likely to:
I like to support newbies ... but will refrain when I need an item quickly. I am hesitant to contact them until maybe several days after the EDD has passed so as not to rattle them.
You didn't do anything 'wrong' ... and I wouldn't have mentioned the 'contact' if you didn't seem open to receiving advice. You didn't mention the EDD ... but the '5 days' the buyer mentioned sounds like they thought they had an 'extended handling time' for some reason.
And you're very welcome! 😊
EDITED TO ADD:
I just noticed that you left the new buyer negative feedback only 6 days after you won the auction, which surprised me, but gave me the opportunity to see the listing.
I see that the blinds sold for only $5 ... and likely could NOT be shipped First Class Mail at the listed price. An experienced seller probably would have jumped at the opportunity to cancel the order.
I'm confused by your feedback statement, which doesn't match what you told us. You ordered the item on 6/7 and today is 6/13. You stated in the feedback that the seller did NOT ship within 5 days ... yet you must have received the item within 5-6 days. How is that possible? Did the seller hand deliver the package to you?

OP3 years agoThe seller was rude, and argumentive, repetively telling me he does not have to ship for 5 days. Did I fail to mention this seller IS NOT NEW TO EBAY, has multiple accounts, all with the kind of feedback I left, so keeps using new accounts where no negs have been yet. This particular account had been opened for over 2 years. I did speak to Ebay legal dept and this is correct, just different ids. Anyway, I will deal with however the cards are dealt, and thank you all so much for your responses, very appreciated and I learned a thing or too. Kind regards, Victoria

Mentor3 years agoThank you for your information. I am stunned that eBay's 'legal department' would reveal personal information about another member. I am checking into that now to verify whether our personal information is being shared with other members by eBay.

OP3 years agoIf you are an attorney, you will have access to legal department, all have access.

Mentor3 years agoSellers can set their handling times when they set up their listings. They could have 1,2,3,5 or more days if the seller wants to. Clearly what your seller is trying to tell you is that they have a 5 day handling time which is completely within the Ebay rules.

Mentor3 years agoYou should be able to, but if for some reason your can't, then open a dispute with the payment processor.
