2 options.
1. Offer them a partial refund.
2. Ask them to open a return request for an item that doesn't fit the description. Then you can accept the return and send a return label.
1. https://www.ebay.com/help/selling/managing-returns-refunds/refunding-buyers?id=5182
Go to "Issuing a refund".
PS: the first answer is better.

OP1 year agoWhy should I have to fit the bill? Lose my items and the rest that are left are all damaged. Items was definitely as described

·1 year agoSelling can be risky. Indeed you can loose the item and has to refund.
The good news is that you loose just the item. The refund part was from the buyer in the first place.

Was this a domestic or international shipment? If it was sent via USPS, the post office normally puts a sticker on the package if the post office damaged it or the package was empty. You could contact the Shift Supervisor at that post office and ask them to ask that carrier.
If it was an international sale that was sent to the eBay hub in Glendale Heights, Illinois, the Buyer needs to open an Item Not as Described refund request and eBay will handle it from there.
I would not automatically refund until you do some research. Also, look at this Buyer's feedback they leave for others in case there's a pattern of this behavior.
