Need guidance regarding counterfeit policy removals on authentic Adidas listings
Hello everyone,
I’m looking for guidance from experienced sellers regarding several listing removals related to eBay’s counterfeit policy.
I mainly sell Adidas shoes and I genuinely want to make sure I’m fully complying with eBay’s policies.
At first, I used promotional or more professional-looking images for some listings. When the authenticity-related removals started happening, I thought that might be the issue, so I completely changed the way I create my listings.
Now I use real photos taken by me showing the physical shoes, the box, size tags, SKU codes, and product details. I even try to show as much proof of authenticity as possible. However, despite that, I’m still having listings removed under the counterfeit policy.
At this point, I honestly no longer understand what is triggering these restrictions, especially when the listings contain real photos of the actual product and box.
I also recently received a 3-day selling restriction, and I’m worried about continuing to have issues in the future because I don’t know exactly what I should correct.
Has anyone experienced something similar when selling branded footwear?
Could this be caused by automated detection, certain words in titles/descriptions, reports from competitors, or another factor I may not be noticing?
Any advice or shared experience would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I am sure someone with experience in that area will come along shortly but I noticed on the Adidas R71 Originals Men's Sneakers Green White Gum Retro - IH1326 listing there is NO shoe size anywhere??? You also have the end of the box cropped off in the main listing picture yet plenty of boxes in the background.
Why isn't the end of the box shown and why aren't any sizes listed??????

OP4 months agoThank you very much, I honestly hadn’t considered that things like a cropped box, other boxes in the background, or not clearly showing the size could trigger automated flags.
The shoes are authentic, and I’m genuinely trying to understand what details in the listing might appear suspicious so I can avoid future removals.
So would you recommend always showing the full box, the size label clearly visible, and using cleaner backgrounds for these types of listings?
Thank you again, this really helps me understand the issue better.

-Don't "Stage" your items, a plane background, preferably white, is recommended. Just show what is being sold.
-Show the end of the box with the shoe information, include shoe size on your listing. Nobody will buy a pair of shoes if they don't know what size they are.
-If you are using AI for your Descriptions that might inadvertently be putting words in that trigger eBay to take listings down, who knows.
-As mentioned, someone with experience in this area may be able to provide a better answer but in general from what I understand is if an item is taken down do not try to Relist it. You will have to sell it elsewhere.
-Could competitors be Reporting your listings? Absolutely but hard to prove.
