Need Ebay Expert Seller for cards
Hello,
There used to be a way to chat with an Ebay expert and I can't find it any longer. I have had many issues with the Ebay Authenticator and was told by one of my buyers that Ebay told them you don't HAVE to send it to the Authenticator. I wanted to know if this is a possibility for cards valued over $250? Or if anyone knows how to actually get a card to pass the Authenticator without it being delayed, lost or stolen. All of which have happened to me.

·2 years agoThe eBay Expert program has been dissolved, but many of them participate here in the Mentor program.
Cards that are shipping to a PO Box, APO, territories (Puerto Rico), internationally, or offered for local pickup, will not be sent to an authenticator.
Once tracking shows a card has reached the authenticator, they take responsibility for delivering to the buyer. If the buyer opens a "not received" or "not as described" due to the item being lost or damaged in transit from the authenticator, the authenticator would settle the claim.

OP2 years agoThank you for the update about expert sellers. As for the Authentication program I understand how it works. The problem I have is when a card gets sent there it disappears. I hear nothing for weeks and then have to get on Ebay chat and have someone help find the card. The last 3 cards I sent to them have either taken a month and then got rejected for unknown reasons AFTER I reached out since there was zero communication from them or it just straight up got lost. I was hoping to find an expert card seller that might not be having issues with the Authentication process so I can mimic whatever that person might be doing. One of my buyers whose card got lost said he was told by Ebay that you don't HAVE to send it to the Authenticator but rather just ship it straight to the buyer even if it's valued over $250. I wanted to confirm if that was true or not?

·2 years agoIt's not true. It is not possible to opt out of the program, and the seller is not given the buyer address.

See FAQ:
"Can a buyer choose not to have the item authenticated?"
"No."
If you were to offer local pickup as a delivery option, you may be able to work out something with a buyer who wants to skip authentication, but I have not investigated that avenue.
