Need contact info to file an official complaint
I need to file an official complaint about a purchase that was never received and a fraudulent seller . I'm looking for a way to email eBay or at least call them directly so that this information can get to the right people and hopefully, to upper management. Because eBay has closed my case, I cannot add any more details and I cannot find an email address to file this complaint agains them and the seller.
My case was closed multiple times though the seller shipped an item (though not the one I purchased) and it was sent to an address where I do not live. They only saw that the package was delivered and apparently no one looked at the letter I sent from USPS providing the facts that indeed it WAS delivered to a different address and what was delivered was 10.24 oz. Clearly not a vacuum, which is what I purchased.
I spent HOURS on the phone with eBay and PayPal and the only reason this issue got resolved and FINALLY did get my money back is I was PERSISTENT and refused to no for an answer with PayPal also refusing to give me a refund. In the end, I escalated the case to talk to management and did get a refund, thankfully.
eBay totally let me down with this case and did zero to help. Hoping someone can help here.
Thank you,
MaryAnn

I'm sorry that happened. I am glad you got your refund. If that happens again, please come straight here for advice about the steps to take.
For now, steps to take to report that seller
1) Report the seller using this process
https://www.ebay.com/help/action?topicid=4022
Important, select "The seller has violated one of eBay’s policies"
then "Other"
Explain that the seller is using fake USPS tracking numbers
Include these phrases
Don't write a novel, it's initially being read by a computer, that's why I want you to use those 3 specific phrases in the message. This puts eBay on alert to what the seller is doing.
2) Consider filing an Internet Crime IC3.gov case https://www.ic3.gov/Home/ComplaintChoice
3) If the seller use USPS, file a Postal inspector mail fraud https://www.uspis.gov/report

OP8 months agoThank you. That’s super helpful information. I’ll update this post once I take additional steps. And I’m definitely going to report this seller to USPS.
I didn’t know that sellers were doing this kind of thing with faking tracking info until I read another post about this recently. This is good really information, so thank you again
