Need adviseâ€¦purchasing a vehicle on eBay

Question

Just want to know if Iâ€™m looking at a vehicle on eBayâ€¦what should I expect?

The seller is telling me that they have committed to eBay and that the vehicle will be delivered to me for inspection prior to me purchasing said vehicle. I get 5 days to inspect (drive?) and then decide if I want to fully commit to the purchase.

I want to ensure that Iâ€™m not being scammedâ€¦I hear it happens a lot these days.

Can someone please verify this as legitimate or not.

Actually, from your post, you are not... that five day inspection is a dead giveaway that this is a common scam . They're lying about eBay. BTW, did the pitch also include a heartbreaking story about being widowed and the car brings back too many memories, or maybe the seller is military and being posted to a medical unit in Iraq, or something?

@gran-o It is a SCAM!!! Ebay has nothing to do with vehicles advertised on other websites. Sellers do not "commit to Ebay". You are dealing with a criminal trying to steal your money.
