Need Advice 'seller' package lost I filed a claim
I had a customer place a order I shipped it out and the tracking took it all the way cross country where it was going, but the customer sent message stating they never received it. So I filed a claim with UPS and they said they investigated it and the package was lost and they were going to take care of it as in payment to eBay. But the customer said they would like to receive a replacement order and I'm not sure what to do. Should I give them a refund and then they can reorder or should I ship them out the order and if so will I be reimbursed for the first order that was lost and the new one to replace the first one?
I'm trying to handle this issue quickly as possible but won't everyone to be happy with the outcome. I'm new to eBay been selling on here now for just at four weeks and really trying to do what is right any and all help you can give or offer is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time and knowledge

Refund the buyer as soon as possible. Don't wait until UPS refunds you, if they planned to do that.
If the buyer is interested in another item, list it.
PS: I don't understand why UPS wants to reimburse to eBay. It has to go to you, isn't it?

OP2 years agoThanks so much for your help.
I'm still confused about it myself but the way I understand it is since eBay sells me the shipping label and collects funds from buyer then we are considered third parties. Now I may be wrong but that's what I took from my emails with UPS

·2 years agoYou and your buyer are having a transaction. Ebay only made a shipping label.
So, you can refund the buyer. Because as seller you are responsible.
The money from your claim with the UPS has to go to you, not to eBay.
