Need advice on how to handle change in shipping cost
Hello, need some advice on how to handle a situation. I placed for sale a large item (turns out 85 lbs) without knowing the real the shipping costs. Ebay estimated the shipping and its $110 short. The customer knows and understands the situation and still wants the item at a revised amount. She has already paid the cost plus incorrect shipping. Do I refund the current order and relist the item????
Please advise.
Thank you 🙂

Mentor3 years agoIt is great you have an understanding buyer.
You could cancel, refund and relist, or you can create a listing for the difference for your buyer to purchase, something like this item -
https://www.ebay.com/itm/39428404257
Never let eBay try to estimate shipping - always enter your own weight and dimensions. Even then, review your listings to make sure the shipping looks reasonable.

·3 years agoYou can cancel the present transaction, relist at agrees price and enter shipping costs that are correct. If you cancel the transaction you need to give a reason. If your buyer is understanding, you can use Per buyer's request or problem with buyer address which will not earn you a defect.
