Need advice
Hello, I need help. I accepted an offer of $180 on some art work and after carefully boxing it I took it to ups only to discover shipping was over two hundred dollars. Customer paid $25 for shipping. What should I do, cancel the sale?

It appears you may have used a Flat rate of only $ 25.00 for shipping. That was the mistake. It also looks like you accepted an offer below the list price of $ 200. I see two dimensions on the listing 20" x 16" so your box would have to be larger than that and I am guessing by at least 2" all around so estimating the shipping box was 24" x 20" x 6" or more. That means the box is over one cubic foot (1728 cubic inches) at about 2880 cubic inches. This means it is shipped via Volume weight and the cost jumps when that happens.
You cannot cancel without getting a defect on your account (Out of stock reason) and you riks getting Negative Feedback from your customer. You need to ship the item(s) and take the loss and learn from your mistake.
Use the Calculated setting int eh future with accurate weights and dimensions, that way Buyers will see what it costs them to pay you to ship.

Mentor2 days agoYou can cancel the transaction which will refund, but you will get a strike on your account, still have to pay ebay fees, and have an unhappy buyer.
Before doing the above. Go to PirateShip and get a discount quote there. Between that discount and maybe reducing the size of the package it will be much less.

Mentor2 days agoThe shipping costs to ship the item should have been researched before you listed the item on Ebay.
As a seller, you are required to fulfill your responsibility.
Since that will be a financial burden to you to pay the difference, you can cancel the transaction and refund the buyer.
This will result in a defect on your selling account and an unhappy buyer.
