NEED A REFUND
I ordered a "used" sewing machine 11/24/2023 and had it sent to my granddaughter which she received about 12/1/2023. The machine was and is defective and I want a refund. I have spent hours on the website and all I find is automated information which does not bring about any results. First, I contacted seller twice and received no response. Then, I went to Purchases and filled out my request for a refund 5 times and every time the website does not allow me to submit the request because "this seller does not accept returns." THIS ITEM ARRIVED DEFECTIVE: there are 20 possible stitches on 5 cams and the main top left button does not move, which then does not allow the use of 19 stitches and only ONE straight stitch can be used. I have read all I can on the website, tried the chat assistant and that did was bring back to contact the seller or return an item; neither works. I need to contact a human person that can help get this resolved. Ebay has a "ask us to step in" policy and I have tried to use that and have gotten no response. This seller did not follow policy and again, I want this to be resolved and get my refund; it has been three weeks since I ordered and two weeks since we received it. I started the process as soon as I learned it does not work by contacting the seller twice, followed procedures on the website and now trying to contact ebay personnel.
Can anyone tell me how to get this resolved? Thank you.

OP2 years agoThank you for your help! I did as you suggested and was able to start the process. I have not heard from seller (I contacted them 4 times). If I do not get a response by 12/22, I will ask ebay to step in. ONE SUGGESTION: Put the information you gave me, somewhere on the website so that it could be found easier. This has really caused me to think about buying from ebay again. This was $200 and I still don't know it I will get a refund so that I can by my granddaughter another machine. This has caused a lot of stress for her and I!! Thanks again.

Mentor2 years agoI agree that eBay could put it in one easy to read page. The information is all there, but you have to go to several pages. I'll add to the list of changes I'd like to suggest 🙂

Mentor2 years agoWhat reason for return are you selecting? “Does not match description’ is what you need to select - this overrides the seller’s no returns policy. You do need a photo of the item to be able to open a not as described return.
You can’t ask eBay to step in until you have a return open and the seller has had 3 business days to respond.
You can try asking for a call back from customer service, but I understand that they are a bit overloaded and may have the ‘have us call you’ link turned off right now.
To speak to customer service, use the link on the left side of this page “have us call you†- https://www.ebay.com/help/contact_us?id=4002&st=10
If you don't see 'have us call you' right under the chat link, click chat. Then at the bottom of the chat topics, click more, then click contact an agent.
