Mentor2 weeks ago@accent-on-sports Rest assured, you don't get a Defect for the Tracking related metrics. Only 2 things can cause a Defect & neither one have to do with tracking. The tracking metrics have a certain percentage as their metric & so the occasional item that comes through without tracking or with a late delivery will show up on your Dashboard, but does not affect your account unless you have so many that it takes you below the metric. The metric is quite generous, so as long as the majority of your pkgs have it, it's not something you need to worry about.
But, if you're a perfectionist like me lol, I have a couple of times contacted the Delivery Post Office to tell them that the item never got a Delivery scan & they have added it for me. In the 2 cases I did it, I knew the buyer had received the item, either via communication or feedback & I told them the buyer had received it & that I need that Delivery scan for eBay (despite knowing I was fine as far as the metric). I was kind of surprised they did it, but they did, so if it really bothers you, that's something you can try.
In case you don't know, you can get your own Acceptance scan via the USPS kiosks, which are called APC's, in most branches. That way you can at least always prove you sent it.

Mentor2 weeks agoI receive very few messages from buyers stating they have not received their item. I recall one instance when I shipped an item to Australia, using USPS. The package kept moving back and forth between 2 cities. I believe I asked the buyer to check with both post offices to see if they could help. It took a few extra weeks but the buyer finally received their package.
