Summary: sttal-7425 is seeking advice on how to handle a situation where a buyer is uncertain about the authenticity of shoes they are interested in purchasing. They want to ensure honesty and transparency in the transaction without compromising trust. inceptions responds by questioning whether the seller or buyer is uncertain about authenticity and advises against listing items unless they are confirmed authentic, citing potential legal issues and marketplace policies.
Question: What is the best approach when facing an uncertain situation with a buyer regarding the authenticity of a product?
I've recently encountered a scenario where a buyer has expressed interest in purchasing my shoes, despite not being entirely sure if they are authentic. I want to maintain transparency and trust, but I'm unsure about the best course of action.
Discussion Focus:
How do you ensure honesty and transparency in transactions where authenticity is questionable?
What are some strategies to handle such situations without compromising customer trust?
Have any of you faced similar ethical dilemmas in your buying/selling experiences?
What role do platforms and marketplaces play in these situations, and what responsibilities should sellers uphold?
I'd love to hear your thoughts and experiences on maintaining trust and integrity in these transactions.
I listed the shoes and a lower price than I paid for them and even told the buyer afterwards and he still wants the shoes.

Who is not sure the shoes are authentic? You or the potential buyer?
I don't see that you have any active listings or recent sales under the account you're posting with here.
If you don't KNOW whether the shoes are authentic, don't list them. It's not only against eBay policy to list counterfeits, it's illegal.
