Navigating and Resolving Policy Violation Notices
Summary: soccardz is seeking advice on handling a policy violation notice on their inactive sales page, which they believe was incorrectly applied. mudshark61369 suggested checking listing descriptions for phrases that might trigger the platform's bots and advised rewording them. mr_lincoln shared their experience of not being able to resolve or delete such listings for 90 days and recommended including welcoming language in descriptions for clarity. The discussion focuses on understanding platform policies and effectively communicating with support.
Hi everyone! I've been dealing with a policy violation notice on my inactive sales page, and it seems no matter what I try, I can't get it resolved or removed—even though I believe it was incorrectly applied. I'm sure I'm not the only one who's faced this challenge.
I'd love to hear from those who have successfully navigated similar situations. How did you approach it? What steps did you take to resolve the notice, especially if it was unjustly applied? Did you face any unique challenges, and how did you overcome them?
Also, if there are any mentors who can shed light on best practices or share insights on effectively communicating with the support team, your input would be greatly appreciated!

In addition to what @mudshark61369 has provided I have the following near the end of all of my Descriptions: " ... Questions welcome. ..."
As to any listing that is taken down for a Policy violation (whether real or not) it will remain in the Inactive-Unsold file for 90 days and there is NOTHING you can do to resolve it or delete it. I know, I had it happen.

Mentor3 weeks ago@soccardz ,
It might help if you post the item number of one of your listings so we can see if there is a policy violation. In looking at one of your active listings in your Seller description you say "...Please contact me... " ebay's bots may be picking up on that and consider it an attempt to take the transaction off ebay. Try rewording that to read "Contact me through ebay messages".

OP3 weeks agoApparently; it's not always the object you are selling, but what the eBay Bot picks up in the description. I see the same objects selling and not cited as policy violations.

If you tell us what the item was and what policy eBay said was violated, we can help you better with that part.
