Mystery Seller refunds
Since september, as a seller after upgrading to a Basic store from starter, I keep getting small refunds, under a dollar back to my credit card where ebay fees are charged. The email I get letting me know its coming does not explain why I am getting them. the one today was One cent?
Can anyone help meunderstand this?

Mentor2 years agoI believe Michigan changed the way that sales tax was calculated in April, and eBay is finally getting around to correcting the overcharges.

OP2 years agoThank you so much. I tried 3 times talking to someone on customer service, and getting grouchie with the bot, no one could ever help even after hours of being on hold with someone who was not fluent in english. Now I understand my refunds were as a buyer not a seller also.

In fairness to the customer service reps, I doubt whether they have had much training in the ins and outs of individual state sales tax changes. The only reason I know about this is that I noticed several similar posts about small refund amounts, and someone from Michigan who knew about the change in the law responded to one of them with the answer.
