my two listings are locked "because bids or offers were received" but none were received
Summary: deecoman is facing issues with two eBay listings that are locked and cannot be edited, contrary to eBay's indication that changes should still be possible. They also express frustration with numerous scam listings for coins on eBay. evry1nositswindy asks if offers were made, suggesting that sending offers can lock items, which deecoman confirms, though they were informed this should not cause the issue. Overall, deecoman is considering leaving eBay due to these frustrations.
Both listings are "buy it now" and set not to accept offers. They are not within 73 hours of ending. I reached a human after much effort who switched me to someone else who said they would fix it. Still not fixed. Can't add photos or even re-arrange existing photos, can't change anything but the price. Looking forward to leaving eBay. I also see dozens(thousands?) of obvious scam coin listings for "rare" coins currently watching a "Silver buffalo Nickel" listed for 100,000 dollars. Asked how he tested metal seller stated he "just knew" it was silver and that I could return it if my tests showed it was not silver. Other sellers have low number of sales with 100% positive and are selling worthless coins for thousandsthousands of dollars

Mentor1 month agoDid you send out any offers on these items? That would also lock them until the offers expire.

OP1 month agoI was told by eBay that making offers would not lock the item. Also that even when locked I should still be able to add photos. When I hover over why locked it clearly states items are locked because I RECEIVED bids or offers. But yes, I did make offers. Thank you.

OP1 month agoLooks to me like ebay is a swamp of scams. This country is finished.

Mentor1 month agoeBay doesn't tell you that making offers wouldn't lock the item. This is just something you learn along the way. You can end the listings and then use sell similar to make the changes you need to make. That would allow you to make changes, but it wouldn't allow the currents recipients of the offers to accept.
