-Unfortunately, and regardless of the reason, if you have purchased something on eBay you can "request" a cancellation but the Seller does not have to honor the request. While you are protected by the eBay Money Back Guarantee for 30 days if the item arrives as listed then you own it. Depending on the Seller's return policy you may be able to return it but might have to pay for return shipping. eBay Money Back Guarantee policy
-If a bid was placed on an auction you cannot retract it since there are only two reasons for retracting bids:
If a wrong amount was entered you can retract that bid and REPLACE it with a correct bid or if the Seller changed something on the listing then you can retract the bid.
-If you win an auction you can elect not to pay but if the Seller cancels after 4 days your account will be issued an Unpaid item strike. 2 of those in 12 months and you will not be able to bid on or buy much on eBay until the strikes roll off your account in 12 months down to 1 or less.

Mentor2 months agoYour son playing on your phone is not a valid reason to cancel an order. You can ask the seller to either cancel the purchase or the bid but they are not required to do this for you. You are responsible for everything that happens on your account.
