My sold ebay item was listed as delivered. Tracking shows that the item was given to an individual.

However, the item came back to me with a label saying

Return to Sender -

Attempted --Not Known -

Unable to Forward

Return to Sender

The item only sold for $9.99 and it was shipped to California. I want the person to get the item but the sale price is just not enough for me to cover the shipping costs again.

You can let the buyer know that the package was returned to you (I would attached a photo of the delivery label showing the return to sender info to the message) and that you have refunded the purchase price (you don't have to refund the original shipping).

Relist the item and provide the buyer with the new item # so he can repurchase it if he still wants it, reminding him to be sure the ship-to address shown at checkout is updated to the correct address before completing payment.
