My purchase arrived in dented box/ dinnerware damaged. Seller said contact USPS
I ordered antique dinnerware pieces. The box arrived dented. When I opened it, out of 7 items, 5 were broken and in pieces. Contacted seller and seller referred me to USPS to collect. I think that is not right.

Mentor1 year agoThe seller is not right. You need to open an "Item not as described" case for the item. However, the seller should not require a return since the USPS will need to see the damaged items and packaging in order to approve an insurance claim. If you return the items to the seller the USPS will deny the insurance claim. The seller should just ask you to keep the items and packaging and send you a full refund. Then they can open an insurance claim with the USPS.

Mentor1 year agoThat is not correct. Damage claims are the seller responsibility.
You need to open a return request. Use the reason "broken or damaged" Item not as described.

The seller will have to respond. They can refund you, require you to return them or not respond. If they do not respond, you can ask eBay to step in and help after an allocated time frame.
A good seller will not require you to return them if you provide evidence of damage but you may have to return them. (broken and all)
