My Purchase Arrived Damaged - Seller Did Not Insure
If the carrier does not refund me and the seller has indicated that they will not refund me, will eBay step in and assist? I have opened a claim with the carrier and am waiting for their response. Is there a time limit to request eBay to step in? I couldn't find any information in the Help section that covers this scenario.

Mentor2 weeks agoIf you are the buyer you don't need to deal with insurance. That is the responsibility of the seller.
The seller should refund you. Open a return request for "damaged item, item not as described"
You will be refunded in full, including shipping when you return the item. You are protected by eBay buyer protection.
If your item is not as described, you can request a return from your order in Purchases.
Go to your Purchases and find the item.
Select See return details and then choose to open a return request.
If the seller doesn't respond within 3 business days or doesn't provide a resolution, you can ask eBay to step in and help.
When eBay steps in, we review the case fairly and typically respond within 48 hours.
You may be eligible for the eBay Money Back Guarantee if the item is faulty, damaged, or doesn't match the listing, allowing you to return it even if the seller's return policy says no returns.
Make sure to send the item back in the condition it arrived to avoid deductions from your refund.
